[edit] Building Information

The Academy is one of the most important buildings in any town. It is the place of learning for your capital or colonies. Each scientist produces 1 research point  Research Points per hour, but also costs 9 9 Gold in upkeep (3 for citizen and 6 for scientist). This value will be taken out of your income, instead of adding to your upkeep.

Throughout your colonies, all your academies pool all their research points together; you can then use these points to "buy" a technology via your research advisor. Having more academies means that it will take less time to research any technology. Therefore it is a good idea to build an academy in each colony.

[edit] Technology Affects

When someone researches paper they will gain an additional 2%  Research Points. This means each scientist will produce 1.02  Research Points per hour.

Next is Ink, which adds another 4%  Research Points. When added with paper will make each scientist produce 1.06  Research Points per hour.
Afterwards, Mechanical Pen adds another 8%  Research Points per hour making a total of 1.14  Research Points per hour.
Finally, whhen you reach the Scientific Future(s), you gain another 2%  Research Points, per scientist per hour, for each level researched.

[edit] Expansion Details

Please Note:

  • There are some researches which reduce the resources required for the construction of buildings.
Pulley reduces the required amount of resources by 2% (2% total)
Geometry reduces the required amount of resources by 4% (6% total)
Spirit Level reduces the required amount of resources by 8% (14% total)

Architect's Office reduces the  Marble requirements by up to 32%
Carpenter reduces the  Wood requirements by up to 32%
Firework Test Area reduces the  Sulphur requirements by up to 32%
Optician reduces the  Crystal Glass requirements by up to 32%
Wine Press reduces the  Wine requirements by up to 32%

Alchemist's Tower increases the production of  Sulphur by 2% for every level built.
Forester's House increases the production of  Wood by 2% for every level built.
Glassblower increases the production of  Crystal Glass by 2% for every level built.
Stonemason increases the production of  Marble by 2% for every level built.
Winery increases the production of  Wine by 2% for every level built.

  1. A Soft cap is a maximum level that is shown in the in-game Help (Ikipedia) section of Gameforge's games. However, structures can be built to higher levels than what is shown until you reach the Hard cap.
