Dear community,

we'd like to give you - the players - more say in what will be in upcoming versions of Ikariam!

In order to do so we will make a user vote once a month giving you the choice between 3 features. The winning feature will be included in the next update. This vote takes place once a month in ALL Ikariam communities, meaning: all votes will be summed up and added to the global vote result.

The two features that didn't manage to win the poll will not be discarded though, they get thrown back in our pool of features destined to be voted for and will be part of one of the next votes.

And these are the 3 options:
1. Vacation mode to be shown in the friendlist
2. In the island overview: show alliance tag additionally to the blocker's name
3. Font color of your gold amount changes according to your gold status, +green -red

MX announced that they will begin phase 1 of the server mergers on Tuesday, September 23, 2014

The server merges begin

Dear players,

It is a pleasure to announce that the merger is coming and will start here in Ikariam.mx. The first phase will begin next week - 09/23/2014, during which able to choose your destination server. This phase will be for 3 weeks, so will have time to talk to your friends, guild to decide which server you are going to want to move your account.

These are the servers involved:

Servers "Exodus":
S1 - Alpha
S2 - Beta
S3 - Gamma
S4 - Delta
S5 - Epsilon
S6 - Zeta
S7 - Eta

Servers "Objective":
S8 - Theta
S9 - Iota

What this means? It means that players on the Alpha through Eta servers will have the opportunity to move their accounts to Theta and Iota servers.

When the first phase begins, you will receive an email explaining all the details such as if you need to change the email on one account, change the nick, etc.

If you have any questions, please use the in discussion thread . Try to answer all your questions.

Re: Donations and 18 days to donate

A few of you have asked if 18 days is really enough time to use up resources donated. Our lovely head of QA has done the calculations to figure out if it IS possible to spend donations in that time frame. This is her reply:

“

If you are unlucky enough and end up on a target server with lvl 1 saw mill and lvl 1 luxury mine and choose NOT to move to an island with higher mines you will be able to donate 402 million resources to the saw mill and 885 million to the luxury mine ending up with a lvl 48 saw mill and a lvl 44 luxury mine within those 18 days. That is to say you are able to donate a total of 1.287 million resources to those mines. (If we do assume a full 16 days of “upgrade time” because you won’t always hit the exact time when you can upgrade again. It’s only about 209 million to the saw mill and 430 million to the luxury mine - so a total of 639 million resources).

With higher already existing levels of mills and mines the possibilities to spend do only get “worse”. Let’s take for example an island with lvl 10 mines – not really that high. In 18 days you can spend 620 million in the saw mill and end up with a lvl 50 mill and additionally 1.429 million to the luxury mine to reach lvl 46. That’s a total of 2.049 million of resources! (Numbers for 16 full days of “Upgrade time”: 322 million to saw mill and 697 million to luxury mine so a total of 1019 million of resources).

Just to top things off let’s take reasonable mine levels of 25 for both mines. Then you would be able to donate 5.297 million resources to the saw mill (and end up with a lvl 60 saw mill) and 41.061 million resources to the luxury mine (again new mine lvl 60). BOTH times you won’t need to be online nonstop, though it will help with upgrades. Both actions will “only” need 17 days and 12 hours to complete. If we again assume 16 hours of upgrade time you can end up with 2.785 million donated to the saw mill (and lvl 57) and 19.997 millions to the luxury mine (again lvl 57) so you could spend 22.782 million of your resources.

All numbers above are for sole donation to a saw mill and a luxury mine on one island only. If you do have multiple towns you may spread the donation to multiple islands. If you prefer to have all your cities on the same island you may suffer some losses in donation score, so please choose the strategy that best benefits you.

Vote for Community Feature #6

1. Show scatter times: In the military advisor left menu not only the amount of scattered units will be shown but also when they will be back. This will be shown in a mouse over effect.

2. Ikipedia: show possible upgrades in workshop: Similar to the ikipedia entry for the barracks for example it will be shown which upgrades are available in the workshop from which level on.

3. Mine upgrade countdown: Instead of clicking on the respective mine to see when the upgrade will be finished a countdown will be shown below the mine in the island overview.

Features

Server merges are now possible. Dates and servers to be merged will be listed separately in the relevant communities
The tutorial has been expanded to explain the founding of the first colony
The Military Advisor now features a mouseover for lost units, stating when they will return to their home towns (Community Vote Feature #6)
The maximum level of saw mills and luxury mines has been increased to level 60

Show scatter times
In the military advisor left menu not only the amount of scattered units will be shown but also when they will be back. This will be shown in a mouse over effect.

Similar to the ikipedia entry for the barracks for example it will be shown which upgrades are available in the workshop from which level on.

Changes

The 'Saved combat reports' tab has been completely removed from the Military Advisor
Optician now also affects the crystal costs of spies
In the pop-up for the Red vs Blue Event there is now the option not to participate

Bugfixes

The button for accelerating or completing a building has been enlarged in the tablet version
The resource overview of premium accounts has been adjusted for tablets
The support link for game problems has been updated
When converting capture points with premium, the figures displayed for the new crew strength and capture points was not automatically updated
In certain cases no reward was distributed although a player was ranked in the pirate highscore table
Entering the captcha when performing 'Completely demolish building' can now be confirmed with the Enter key
Towns with a low CityID could prevent colonising on an island
Using the back button when editing ranks now returns you to the main 'Edit ranks' screen and not right back to the embassy
Forgetting to enter a password at the log-in screen now displays the correct error message

You don't have to know everything about editing, you don't even have to be registered. All you need is to have some information we don't have.
