The museum helps your townspeople's happiness increase. This helps increase the amount of citizens. For each level, the museum gives 20 points of happiness, and allows the display of one more cultural artifact worth an additional 50 points each, for a total of 70 points per level. Unlike a Tavern, there are no upkeep costs for a museum.
This building requires the research Cultural Exchange.

[edit] Starting a Cultural Exchange Treaty
- You need to have built at least one museum
- Go to the proper Island view and select one of the player's cities.
- Click Diplomacy, which opens a new window to compose a message.
- Click on the Subject menu and choose the subject "Cultural Assets Treaty"
- NOTE: Make sure you do not already have a cultural treaty with this player. The English translations do not include "cancel" or "offer," so it is impossible to know, just from the message, whether this action will cancel an existing treaty. Search your museum list to double-check this.
- Type a polite message to the receiving party.
- Send it
- Check your outbox -- you will see it says Cultural Assets Treaty
[edit] Expansion Details
- Please Note:
- There are some researches that help to reduce the building materials needed to build this building and they are cumulative: Pulley research reduces them by 2%, Geometry another 4% or 6% total and Spirit Level another 8% or 14% reduction bonus from the normal amount of wood and marble, sulphur, crystal glass, or wine required to build the buildings.
- The research bonuses are not shown directly in the following chart.
These bonuses are shown by hovering your mouse over the individual resource numbers in the chart ( Pulley = 2% total, Geometry = 6% total and Spirit Level = 14% total).
