Talk:Cargo Ship

Hmm... I tried copying the data into excel and plot it to see if I could find an equation that fits the data. It looks like it could be possible but there is one interesting thing: Ship 46 does not really fit. The cost increases less than it looks like it should. Anyone who could verify the number? Due to the new information, that with Version 0.3.0 the maximal number of ships will be 160, I added the new rows. --Tezexlo 19:35, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

New cargo ship number in the german forum: http://board.ikariam.de/thread.php?postid=802612#post802612. --Tezexlo 10:20, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Formula

I checked the formula and it isn't 100% right. I tested it with slightly different numbers too, but can't find a accurate formula. --Tezexlo 12:08, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

I've looked into the formula. If you look at the delta-delta (the increased price increment) per ship, you'll find a pattern. The cost increment always increases in multiplicators of 3 per level:
Price Cost incr. cost incr. incr.
2694 468 12
3177 483 15
3675 498 15
4188 513 15
4719 531 18
This... not quite logarithmic, but kind of, pattern fits with Ikariam's patterns elsewhere (population in townhall, scientists in academies, etc).
This pattern fits Cargo ships 2 up to and including ship 120. After that the 3 multiplicator is still followed, but from steady cost-incr-incr's of anything from -6 to +45 gold per level (varying, but slowly moving from the lower end towards the higher), it's suddenly -12, +93, -72, +45 and +9 for the next 5 levels. It's possible the formula for 121+ is not the same as before that.
