The port is your gateway to the world. Here you can hire trade ships and ready them for long journeys. You can also receive precious goods from places far away.
Larger trading ports can load ships faster, but the size of the trading port does not determine how many cargo ships you can purchase. The more you upgrade your trading port, the more resources people can pillage from you each time they attack you. Because upgrading only speeds things up, it is rarely worth the risk of losing more to attacks.
See Trading for more information.

- Cargo Ship
- Trade ships are the most important support for your island empire. No matter whether they have to transport goods, units or news: your seamen will make sure that everything arrives at its destination quick and safely.
[edit] Expansion Details
- Please Note:
- There are some researches that help to reduce the building materials needed to build this building and they are cumulative: Pulley research reduces them by 2%, Geometry another 4% or 6% total and Spirit Level another 8% or 14% reduction bonus from the normal amount of wood and marble, sulphur, crystal glass, or wine required to build the buildings.
- The research bonuses are not shown directly in the following chart.
These bonuses are shown by hovering your mouse over the individual resource numbers in the chart ( Pulley = 2% total, Geometry = 6% total and Spirit Level = 14% total).

Extra Notes:
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 1.7 Levels 17 through 24 do not show up on the in-game Help pages anymore due to the Soft cap that Gameforge enacted in v.0.2.5!
As of v.0.2.0 the information in this chart was 100% accurate.
[edit] Tips
Do not upgrade your trading port too much; this would speed up your loading time, but it may also attract more players to pillage you. A good tip is to keep your trading port at or below level 3 to avoid large losses.
If you have strong troops and a large warehouse, you could keep your trading port larger; however, it is not recommended.
