The town wall is a building that protects your citizens against your enemies and the sun. Beware! Enemies will try to tear holes in your wall or to climb over it. Every level of your town wall gives your troops a 10% defense bonus. The wall covers all around your village.

[edit] Breaches and bonuses
A wall gives your troops 10% DEFENSIVE bonus per wall level. Before version 0.3.0, a wall smaller than the City Hall did not give a full 10% per level.
Each "possible breach" is a spot that can be rammed by a battering ram each turn; if that is done, the enemy gains 10% OFFENSIVE bonus for each breach opened (maximum number of breaches is the level of your wall). However, this does not render your wall useless until all sections have been breached.
(It is not completely true that the offensive and defensive cancel each other out. If two armies with 1000 attack and 200 defence go head to head, the attacker will benefit more from the percentage increase in damage than the defender will benefit from the percentage increase in defence.)
[edit] Spy breaches
It is possible for a spy deployed by the attacker to breach the wall, once per spy, once per attack. The spy shows up as residing in the town under the battle details, but they are not removed through breaching the wall. The chance for a spy to breach a wall is yet undetermined. However, more spies increases the chance, obviously, that a spy will breach the wall.
[edit] Expansion details
- Please Note:
- There are some researches that help to reduce the building materials (wood, marble, sulphur, crystal glass, and wine) needed to build this building and they are cumulative: Pulley research reduces them by 2%, Geometry another 4% (6% total) and Spirit Level another 8% (14% total).
- The research bonuses are shown separately in the following chart.
These bonuses are also shown by hovering your mouse over the individual resource numbers in the chart (Pulley = 2% total, Geometry = 6% total and Spirit Level = 14% total). - There are also a variety of buildings that reduce the amount of resources required for each building: the Carpenter (wood), Architect's office (marble), Firework test area (sulphur), Optician (crystal glass), and Wine press (wine).
